BIG Consults on BASIS Priorities (England)
The Big Lottery
Fund has launched a consultation to gather the views of third
sector organisations, such as voluntary and community groups, on
which priority services phase two of the BASIS programme should
focus on. Through round one of the programme, over £100 million of
the £155 million programme has been distributed to increase the
effectiveness of voluntary and community organisations. In phase
two, the Big Lottery fund wants to more tightly focus the funding
on those areas that need addressing the most. Following the
consultation, a final list of services the programme will fund will
be established. The Big Lottery Fund is indicating a more strategic
approach in phase 2 by identifying clearly the services it want s
to fund and, in many cases, the organisations who can best provide
them. The consultation will run until the 16th November
2007.
