Voluntary and Community organisations run by Gypsies and Travellers that address many of the issues faced by the Gypsy and Traveller community such as a severe shortage of residential sites and legal stopping places, low literacy levels, poor access to education and health care, conflict with settled communities and racism and discrimination are eligible to apply for grants of £3,000 to support their work. To be eligible organisations must be registered charities and must have an annual income of less than £50,000. Priority will be given to Traveller led projects, other projects may be eligible if they can show substantial involvement of and consultation with Gypsies and Travellers and that they are working towards the project becoming led by Travellers. Applications can be made at any time.
